This Week’s Biggest Storylines

Who Shot Drew Cain?

Anna (Finola Hughes) started her investigation on Monday. There’s a long list of suspects, because who doesn’t hate Drew? Even though there are clear conflicts of interests for both detectives, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Chase (Josh Swickard) were assigned to investigate Drew’s shooting

As soon as Drew woke up Dante asked Drew if he remembered anything about the shooting. Drew said that he didn’t remember seeing anyone in his home before he was shot in the back.

Drew went on to accuse Michael (Rory Gibson), Curtis (Donnell Turner), and anyone else in the area code who ever looked at him funny of shooting him during the course of the week.

Drew also confided to Willow (Katelynn MacMullen) that he plans on accusing Michael and saying that he remembers Michael being in the house. That way Michael will be arrested, and Willow will be given custody of her kids.

Whoever shot Drew may have given Drew exactly what he needs to get Willow her kids back. And then, of course, he gets to keep Willow under his control. Which is really what he wants. He doesn’t care about those kids.

Expect this storyline to drag on for awhile longer, although Sonny (Maurice Benard) is on top of it and working to make sure Michael doesn’t stay on the hook for this attempted murder.

Tracy (Jane Elliot) is also concerned. She didn’t tell the police that she saw Michael’s car on Drew’s street the night of the shooting. Tracy also told Michael to get a rock-solid alibi.

The main suspects right now are:

Michael

Michael paid escort Jacinda (Paige Herschell) to say he was at the Metro Court bar and with her during the time of the murder. He was at the bar, and he did talk to her, although he didn’t go to her room after. They are alibiing each other. Jacinda is afraid she will be a suspect because she came back to Port Charles to blackmail Drew. I’m guessing this mutual alibi is going to fall apart pretty easily.

Curtis

Unfortunately, Curtis does look like the prime suspect right now. He says he was alone in his office at the Savoy during the time of the murder. And he has many reasons to want Drew dead.

Nina/Willow

Nina and Willow are alibiing each other. Nina said that she was on a walk with Willow during the time of the murder, when Willow was missing from her shift at the hospital. I don’t think Willow shot Drew, but it’s pretty suspect that these two are mutual alibis.

Later in the week Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) offered Nina the protection of the WSB if she could convince Lulu (Alexa Havins) to let Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) travel to Switzerland to Steinmauer to see Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Valentin has information that Brennan needs, and he will only give it up if he gets to see Charlotte in person. If Nina has the protection of the WSB I don’t think she will get arrested for Drew’s shooting.

Alexis

Alexis looks like a strong suspect on paper. But, the reason why she has to be so careful in her statements and timeline is that she has Ric (Rick Hearst) locked up in the basement. So she can’t give away that information to clear her name. Anna decided that Alexis’ alibi, which is that Ava (Maura West) and Kristina (Kate Mansi) were with her, is so unlikely it must be true.

It doesn’t even really matter who actually pulled the trigger. This fight is going to come down to Michael vs. Drew, with custody of the kids as the prize for the winner. It’s going to get very ugly but I think Michael will win.

The Britch Is Back!

Kelly Thiebaud

The week’s other big storyline was the return of the Britch, Britt Westbourne. Monday, Jason (Steve Burton) returned to the Five Poppies after Brits’s desperate phone call. He found a note that told him where the lab was on the property. Jason raced to the site, and found Britt. But Pascal (Marc Forget) had strapped a bomb to her ankle that would go off if she left the lab.

Jason tried to defuse the bomb, still not knowing that Joss (Eden McCoy) was nearby and in trouble. Eventually Britt told him that Joss was there. Jason raced off to find Joss and Vaughn (Bryce Dufree), promising Britt he would be back.

While Jason was saving Joss, Pascal came back to the lab. He told Britt that “he” A.K.A. the man behind all this, decided she was too much trouble. Pascal set the bomb to go off in an hour and left Britt in the lab to die.

Jason freed Joss and Vaughn, then came back to help Britt. He managed to get the bomb off her ankle, but they had to run before the explosion. It was a close call, but Britt, Jason, Vaughn, and Joss managed to make it out safely. Pascal also got away.

After the explosion destroyed the lab and Britt couldn’t stay at the Five Poppies anymore Jason convinced her to return to Port Charles. It was a big moment when Britt walked into General Hospital again. And of course, everyone was shocked.

Dante, Lulu, Nina, and Liesl (Kathleen Gati) were all at GH and witnessed Britt walking in. Liesl fainted. Lulu freaked out, because of course she did. Rocco was there getting stitches and Lulu was determined not to let him see Britt before she and Dante could prepare him.

Nina took Liesl and Britt to her house so they could regroup and Britt could rest. Britt didn’t want to talk about what happened or why she was alive, but Liesl insisted Britt tell them what happened to her.

Britt admitted she faked her own death. She said that before Joss had been attacked on the pier by Heather Webber (Alley Mills) someone had approached her with a job offer to join a research project.

Before Britt could respond, the attack happened. Britt did save Joss, but she faked her own death and disappeared to join the research project. She told Liesl that she wanted to spare her mother the pain of watching her waste away from Huntington’s disease. Liesel, stunned and grieving, slapped her daughter angrily.

The fallout from Britt’s return is just starting, so it’s assume that’s going to be one of the minor storylines next week as Port Charles adjusts to the return of the notorious B.R.I.T.C.H.

General Hospital Highlight Of The Week

There were a few emotional and powerful moments this week, but I think Britt standing under the General Hospital sign is the Highlight Of The Week.

Kelly Thiebaud

Love her or hate her, no one is indifferent to Britt. She’s been part of some of the biggest storylines the show has had in the last ten years. Her return is both nostalgic and exciting, because it launches the show into some new territory.

If you are relatively new to General Hospital, you may not know that Britt Westbourne was appointed to be Chief of Staff at General Hospital in 2020, and was later made Co-Chief of Staff with Terry Randall.

Britt Westbourne was doctor who took over the Chief of Staff position from Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). After her “death” Portia (Brook Kerr) became Chief of Staff. Britt is a significant person in the history of General Hospital, and in the social register of Port Charles.

Character Spotlight: Cesar Faison

In the General Hospital episode on September 8, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) revealed to Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) that double agent Colette Moreau (Mercedes Lopez Renard) had worked with Cesar Faison (Anders Hove).

If you haven’t been a fan of General Hospital for many years, you may not know Cesar Faison was or why he is still important. Here’s a little refresher on who Cesar Faison was, and why this mention of him matters.

Anders Hove

 Who Was Cesar Faison?

On General Hospital, Cesar Faison wasn’t just another villain. He became one of the most important characters in the show’s history, and his storylines spanned decades. Faison was one of the O.G. villains, and his influence still affects the show today.

The Origin of General Hospital’s Cesar Faison

Cesar Faison first appeared on General Hospital in 1990, played by actor Anders Hove. He was introduced as a dangerous criminal mastermind linked to an international crime organization called the DVX, which competed with the WSB. From the start, he was written as a mysterious and unpredictable character.

Unlike many villains who appear briefly and then disappear, Faison became an essential part of the show's world. His character was connected to many of the show’s longest-running characters, like Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), and Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary). With his intelligence, scientific background, and ties to powerful families like the Cassadines, Faison was in the perfect position to cause trouble.

His Obsession With Anna Devane

One of the most defining things about Faison was his lifelong obsession with Anna Devane. This obsession led him to make crazy plans and do whatever he could to win her love. When Anna rejected him, he kidnapped her. When that failed, he went after the people she loved to try and force her to be with him. Anna’s refusal pushed Faison into full-on villain mode, and it became one of the biggest storylines in the show. It gave Anna one of her most emotional and physical challenges.

Master of Disguise and Deception

Faison wasn’t a typical villain like Sonny (Maurice Benard) or Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), who were more violent. Instead, Faison was a master manipulator. He used disguises, tricks, and secret plans to get what he wanted. One of his most shocking moves was when he created the fake identity of "Duke Lavery," Anna's true love, to try and win her heart. This twist shocked fans and became one of the most famous moments in the show’s history.

Faison was brilliant and always seemed to stay one step ahead, making him a major threat. Even when it looked like he was defeated, he would often come back with a new plan. Fans never knew what to expect from him.

A Legacy of Chaos

Over the years, Faison brought pain to nearly everyone he met. He kidnapped, blackmailed, and even killed in his quest for power. Some of his most notorious plans included trying to take over Helena Cassadine’s power, terrorizing Anna’s family, and getting involved with dangerous crime rings.

But Faison wasn’t just a typical villain. He was complex, with intelligence and charisma, which made him more interesting than most bad guys. He even had moments where fans could sympathize with him, despite all the chaos he caused

How Did Cesar Faison Die?

Cesar Faison met his end in a violent confrontation with Anna Devane and her allies. He was shot and killed by Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in 2018, after a series of events that included him holding Anna and her family hostage.

His death was a dramatic moment in General Hospital, marking the end of his villainous reign but leaving behind a trail of lasting consequences. Even after his death, his schemes and manipulations continued to impact many of the characters who had been involved in his plans.

General Hospital Preview For The Week Of September 15-19

Braedyn Bruner; Giovanna Mazzara

Gio and Emma are expected to move beyond friendship and share a kiss. It’s about time they make this relationship official. Although, Gio really needs to go back to the Quartermaines. It’s hella awkward for them to be just starting to date and living together under Anna’s roof.

I Think Sidwell Shot Drew, Or Paid To Have Him Shot

I know this could be a controversial take, but let me make my argument before you come for me. I think it’s very likely that Sidwell (Carlo Rota) shot Drew, or paid someone to shoot him. More likely he paid someone to do it, because Jenz Sidwell doesn’t get his hands dirty. There’s a few reasons why I think it was Sidwell.

Everyone Hates Drew

It would be very difficult to find anyone that’s had any dealings with Drew who doesn’t want him dead. Sidwell has worked with Drew to bring Sonny down, and he knows how wretched and slimy Drew is. No matter who it is that actually shot Drew, it won’t surprise me.

Sidwell Is A Pro

Sidwell is a professional villain. He plots, he plans, he schemes. And he gets very upset when people interfere with his plans. That’s usually become he’s playing chess when other villains are playing checkers. In order for Sidwell’s plots to work, he needs to know that people like Drew aren’t going to act in unpredictable ways.

If someone that he is relying on goes rogue or acts in an irresponsible way, like Drew, it can throw Sidwell’s careful plans into chaos. Sidwell very well may have tried to take out Drew to prevent Drew from screwing up Sidwell’s plans to get power and influence in Port Charles.

Think about it. We know Sidwell is connected to some Big Names. Likely he’s involved in whatever this cold fusion research project is. And he’s been trying to get control of Sonny’s piers since he got to Port Charles. He can’t have Drew, or his association with Drew, screwing up his plans.

Carlo Rota

Sidwell Wants To Ruin Sonny

Sidwell’s been scheming to get rid of Sonny for awhile now, and he doesn’t care who has to hurt to do it. Even though there’s no evidence he planted the bomb in Sonny’s penthouse that nearly killed Michael we suspect it was him.

And we know he paid off the judge to give custody to Michael. He was planning on that bribery creating a wedge that would cause a rift between Michael and Sonny. When he realized that wouldn’t work because of what Marco (Adrian Anchondo) told Drew he had the judge killed. Maybe he wanted to have Drew killed so that Drew couldn’t tell Sonny what was going on.

Carlo Rota; Maurice Benard

It’s also possible that Sidwell tried to have Drew killed because he knew that Michael would be the prime suspect. If Michael was arrested for the murder of Drew Cain that would definitely blowback on Sonny.

Sidwell has the motive, the money, and the coldness to have hired someone to kill Drew so that he can secure his power and influence in Port Charles.

The Week Ahead

The last few weeks of General Hospital for September are going to be very emotional. I’m still not ready for the tribute to Leslie Charleson, or watching the characters grieve over Monica’s death. Don’t forget we also have Ryan Peavey returning sometime too, possibly as Nathan West after all? If Britt fakes her death, maybe Nathan faked his?

Be sure to hit up the blog each day for spoilers and my reactions!
